USS Independence (LCS-2)

In a search for strange looking new high tech ships, I ran across the USS Independence. It's unique hull design allows for minimal wake creation and eye-candy for Tech savvy nerds... 

This is the USS Independence. The lead ship for the Independence variant of the "Littoral Combat Ship" class. This is also the sixth ship of the United States Navy to be named for the concept of independence...and is apparently the "Bad ass of the U.S. Navy"...

Construction of the Independence finished on July 2, 2009, three days behind schedule. The total cost of the project at $220 million, 220% over-budget...
