3D-Printer Awesomeness

Welcome to the world of 3D printing.
There is a lot of cool stuff coming out of 3D printers, I bet you don't even know the half of...

Because you can't always find the right part for a custom million dollar car, Jay Leno has had several custom car pieces made with a 3D printer. 3D printers allow a large range of intricate details and advanced functionality.

For example this intricate gear-ball. 3D printers allow for precise perfect functionality.
And also details down to nano scale.

Vienna University of Technology created this racecar a 285-micrometer-long racecar replica, which is just larger than a few strands of hair.

In Belgium Biomedical Research Institute at Hasselt University designed a jawbone which they printed out and then implanted it into an elderly woman who had developed a chronic bone infection.

Meanwhile back in the States, Continuum a design company, is printing out bikinis.
In the future, they hope to be able to scan a client's chest and print out custom cups to perfectly fit any woman's curves.

Musical instruments are also being printed out by 3D printers.
Including violins.

Intricate new guitar designs are also being printed out.

But most interesting an exciting is the design plans for a 3D printed plane which is set to be in use by 2050.
Airbus employee Bastian Schafer recently revealed these design plans which include a see-through floor so that passengers feel as though they are flying in the clouds.

Tools, cars, jewelry, art, anything can be printed out of a 3D printer.
